One Breast Bigger Than Other

Wednesday July 2, 2003
WOMEN'S HEALTH FORUM: My question concerns breast size. Specifically, I've read that it's normal to have one breast bigger than the other one, but how common is that? I have one breast slightly bigger than the other, and the nipples are shaped slightly differently. Is this normal? I've had mammograms (I'm 37) and they were fine, and I don't feel any unusual lumps (other than the normal ones). I was just at the ob/gyn in December and he did a breast exam and said everything was fine. I'm wondering if my new birth control pill (it has more estrogen and more progestin than the other one) is doing this, or maybe it was always like this, and I never noticed. Do you have uneven breast sizes?!

hi’ i’m 19 years old and i have the same problem as you do except for my right breast is a whole cup size bigger.
it started when i was about 12 and i thought it would change but it hasn’t.i’m now researching and i really want to get reconstructive surgery, but i want to avoid getting an implant.this whole thing has brought my self-esteem to an all time low.i’m embarrassed to talk about so i haven’t even told my mother.
thank god i have a boyfriend that is supportive and understands,i’m very lucky to have him. i want to tell you that and i understand where your coming from. good luck!

I have the same problem. I am a 21 year old woman and I have had this problem since I was about the same age as kate. My mom knows, but the men in my life have never known, or if they have noticed, they never mentioned it to me. It seems to have gotten worse in the last few years, and I am very self- conscious about it. I have been thinking about having plastic surgey in years to come… when I can afford it. When I was younger the obgyn said I might be able to take birth control to even them out a bit. Is this true?

I have uneven breasts as well. Their names are Bill and Ted. You may have heard of them. They are 4 time Olympic champions. They actually fight about this. What can I do to make Ted the same size as Bill?

ok. I guess we have established that it is not completely abnormal to have one breast bigger than the other. I am 54 and have just gone through menopause. I just noticed one boob is way bigger than the other. This is a new phenomenon for me. I don’t remember them being different sized. This really sucks!

I have the same problem. I never noticed it until I had my son and now it seems that one sits differently (a little lower) than the other one. They were fine before I got pregnant. Is this something that will go away?

(10) JM says:

Am in early 50’s, had great asymetry as a teen, had implant surgery on one side which changed my life emotionally. I have had to change implant a few times over many years of which is to be expected. Not fun but the surgery changes how you feel about yourself. It is most difficult when you are a teen and worried that a guy now or later will notice and feel differently about you. Must tell parents as this can be covered by medical insurance as it is a medical condition.

I’m 47 and I thought I was the only one this way, I’m very lopsided, even one of my nipples are much larger, been this way for over 20 years, and I wish I knew what to do.

(13) Brittany says:

Yeah I am 16 also almost 17, and my right breast is bigger then the other one. I think it is noticable in swimsuits and in my bra of course too, or even when wearing a tank top. I wear a D cup, but I think my left side might be a C. It’s so embarrasing!! I hate it. One of my nipples is bigger too. I have no idea what to do, my mother says it is normal, but I havnt asked a doctor or anything about it, so I dont know how normal it in reality is. I really want to be content with my body, but this just gets on my nerves.

(14) Lori says:

omg sorry but i’m actually glad i’m not the only one. im 24 and my right breast is smaller than the left, probably a whole cup size. My husband doesnt seem to mind though, but i hate it. they have been like this since i got breast and i always thought they would even out but even after 3 kids they have both gotten bigger but the right one just can’t catch up with the left.

(15) Krystal says:

I have that problem too. My left breast is like a whole cup size bigger than my left. I’m 16 and It’s effecting my self esteem a lot. I’m a big person, and by big i mean i’m way over weight, maybe that has something to do with it… but idk. Hopefully they even out…

(16) helen says:

I have the same thing. One breast is a generous D cup, the other a large B, small C cup. I hate wearing swimsuits, getting undressed in front of people or looking in the mirror. I can never get a clevage as one hangs lower than the other and the crease in the middle is lower. I have been to the doctor and they confirm, no women is symmetrial but she said its usually slight, no way near what mine are. i have been checked by a doctor, but they didnt do any other tests other than just feeling them. should they have done?? they did say i could probably get inplants on the NHS but i do not really want to go down that route as of the surgery, complication during and after and i would have to get them re-done every 10 years at least which it crap. any ideas anyone?

Hi everyone, I am 22 years old and have the same issue.Good to know I’m not alone but I know that it’s a problem that affects esteem and body consciousness. I am 5′2″ and go between a C & D cup right now (depending on the make of the bra) because my biological mother had big breasts. I am right handed and I noticed the difference a few years ago. However, it was when I got married 4 years ago, that’s when my breasts grew about a whole cup size, but the difference is more obvious now.I only recently started really concentrating on it though since over the past few days, they’ve been pretty tenderMy chiropractor recommended sports bras for me as my big bosom affects my back, but as for the size difference, I don’t really know what to do.Surgery is completely out of the question for me though. A suggestion I have is purchasing those extreme push up bras that have the little removable gel packs on the cups and removing one side (whichever is best for you) so that the cleavage kind of evens out. I guess you can just try removing them both and using other “stuffing” to even them out if the gel doesn’t do the job! This just popped in my head, lol, so if anyone else tries it, let me know how it goes!!!

BUT IT IS HORRIBLE CAUSE WETHER PEOPLE NOTICE IT OR NOT YOU WILL THINK SO BUT NOBODY KNOW EXCEPT MY MOTHER AND SISTERS. I BOUGHT SILICONE BRA THAT THEY SAY GIVE YOU A LIFT AND BEND IT AND IT STICKS SO WHATEVER YOU WEAR THEY CAN’T TELL PUT THE TWO IN MY BRA PEOPLE HUG ME ALL THE TIME AND CAN’T TELL. Omg I have the same problem. It started when I was 13 I was in the 8th grade. My mom know she figured it out around the sametime I notice it. My right breast is a 34b and my left one is a 34c. I hate it I mean I HATE IT. It’s really messing with my self confidents. That’s not easy to hide when it’s a whole cub size.

I rather be a 34b then a 34c. I hate the big one it discuss me whenever I look at it. I’m a slim girl but I just gain a few pounds. I’m trying to loose them again beacuse of one thing. ugh

I’m 18years old and I have to manage with 2 different cup size. I’m a B in my right side and a C on my left side. I keep hopeing that one will get smaller and match the other one. I really don’t want big breast. I took a measurement the other day and the lady told me I was a C cup. I felt Ice cold inside. Thank goodness I’m not the only one.

I thought i was the only one! I’ve noticed that my left boob was bigger than my right since being 14/15 years old. My right one is a B and my left a C. I’m gonna be 17 in May and its been annoying me a lot. i’ve even given up stuffing my bra every morning before going to school! My mum realized a year ago and consulted me to the doctor. She offered to refer me to surgery if it was a big problem, but i left it at that. I’m more body concious and i dont want people seeing my body when they’re operating unless its teeth or anything reasonable. As people have said that every 10 years you have to get surgery done if you choose to do it, then i wont handle that!

I’m so stuck…

I really do hate it, feel lots better that others have talked about it though….will have to try the gel pushups bras, thanks girls for the suggestions, and good luck to all of you!

Yes I have the same problem! I am 19 years old, almost 20.. In the past couple of months I have been noticing that my right breast is smaller than my left breast- like a whole cup size smaller! I talked to my mother about it also, and she said they will even out in time. Hopefully this will happen. My whole childhood and teen years I’ve had A cups, but my left breast is definitely a B cup, and my right is still an A! :( I’ve always wanted bigger breasts, either B or C cups, BUT NOT ONE! My left breast actually hurts quite a bit because I’m still wearing a size A bra.. maybe switch to a B? But then my right breast will be peeking out! Ooops! :-0 lol I don’t know what to do and I am sort of getting depressed, why can’t we just have one size breasts… ugh men have it soo easy!!!

(41) Susan says:

I’m 20 and my breasts have been noticeably asymmetrical for some years now. It’s been maybe 4 or 5 years since I noticed, but my left breast is MUCH bigger than my right one.
I can’t stress that enough. I kind of envy the rest of you.

This causes me daily anguish, and I have never talked to anyone about this, and this is the first time I’ve ever expressed myself on this matter.

I can’t even bring myself to talk to my mother about this.

I mostly try to ignore it, but some days I just can’t help but cry and be sad. I’ve kind of isolated myself from people because of this, and I can’t wear any cute or thin tops, because I feel like they make it more obvious.

I also can’t go swimming anymore, which I LOVED to do, because I don’t want people to see me in swimwear.

And of course my bra is NOT the right size, and I’m way too scared to go get measured and have some sort of special bra made or something.

This is very frustrating.

I am a bit overweight (not obese), and I plan to lose most of my excess weight this year, and am hoping my bigger breast will shrink more than the smaller one.

I also hope I’ll have to courage to talk to my mother some day.. And I hope the best for the rest of you.

Hi I am 20 and I have the same problem. My left boob is a whole cup size larger than the right boob. A D cup vs. a C. It is really obvious and I am very weirded out by it. Even my boyfriend points it out sometimes thinking that it doesn’t bother me, but it does. Sometimes I think its because I sleep on my stomach and lean to one side so my right boob is always pressed against the bed so it doesn’t grow as well as the left, haha. but yea. I dont know why, but it sucks.

(44) Big ol Lefty says:

Maybe it’s like feet. My left one is a half size bigger, just like my left breast. It has gotten worse as I’ve aged, and it hangs out of my bra where my other one fits in the cup nicely. They say our bodies aren’t exactly symmetrical – ears higher on one side than the other, etc. – so I guess it’s just part of being human.

(45) Natalie says:

Breasts, though in pairs, are individual body parts. They develop differently and look differently. It is actually quite rare to find someone with breasts (even males) that look similar to each other. Movie stars and models that have breasts that are exactly the same are very often cosmetically enhanced (by surgery or otherwise) or computer or graphically enhanced to make it look like their breasts look the same size and shape.

As the audience, we are trained NOT to see flaws in the actor’s, actress’s and model’s bodies so there is a level of blindness there. Beyond that, the entertainment industry makes sure that we DON’T see it. For a reason of there own (of which I will never understand), the entertainment industry wants us to think that movie stars are perfect.

In the recent years, some stars and celebrities have broken from the frame and showed us that they aren’t perfect, but we still seem to believe that they are. Super stars and celebrities are just like us. If you were to go home with them and sneak into their bedroom as a fly on the wall, you would see that they are just as (if not more) uncomfortable about their bodies as we are. They have a level of perfection to accomplish. If they don’t, they drop off the grid or are harassed.

Everyone in the world has the same problems with their bodies, even celebrities. Going into the entertainment field, your goal should not be to fit in with others, but to stand out. If everyone else in modeling has perfect breasts, go in with your natural ones and show the world that’s watching that they are normal like you. It will give the world a feeling of satisfaction and comfort to know that someone out there, someone in the big world of entertainment and celebrity, is just like them.

Love,
Natalie

hi im 16 and my left boob is a 36DD and my right a 34D. You can’t tell they are uneven when i wear a bra, due to the fact i put padding on the right side, however when i wear a bathingsuit the difference is quite noticeable..to make matters worst i have abnormally large areolas…i’m very self-conscious, ecspecially around boys…i heard if you massage your breast they will grow..is that a myth??

(58) Mrs. C says:

My 14 year old daughter has one smaller breast, and it really does bother her a lot. I’m not concerned because I believe they may even out, and if not then we’ll deal with it when she’s older. Right now I purchase large cotton pads (like cosmetic pads only a bit larger, often found at the dollar store) and she places one on the bottom of the bra for the smaller breast. For swimming, I’d suggest a bathing suit with a built in bra, and a gel pad or synthetic foam bit (like a shoulder pad – ask your mom for one!) sewn into it.

Solid colours make it more obvious, so avoid light coloured shirts with no pattern. And really, if you can avoid it and still be happy, don’t go for the surgery. Of course extreme differences in size would warrant something being done surgically, but a cup size difference should be something you can cope with. No one is perfect, and you need to learn to love yourselves just the way you are. Wow that sounds trite. But it’s true.

Hey I have had the same problem when my horomones went outa wack. One grew bigger then the other one, it was never this way before. Now they both seem to be growing, wierd, I’m 34. I have been using some natural progesterone cream to help balance my horomones, maybe that’s making them grow again. Then I was thinking, hmmmm just put it on the smaller one, who knows it might help them get the same size. Just a theory, but if it works then GREAT!!!!

i feel for all the young girls going through this. i know there are emails from women with the same problem and they state that their boyfriends, or husbands, are cool with it. they are very lucky indeed.
Many of us out of timidness, or embarrassment wont say how they really feel. I WILL..
for me, it was the same for awhile. i had a very caring, loving boyfriend, that accepted me. but not before I wrestled with the how i was going to tell him. i hid my chest, for the first month, then he became insistent. it took everything from me to tell him for fear of rejecton. well he didnt, and he said he never minded it. but that was when was 19 yrs. old. we eventually broke up and moved on. i lost alot of weight and looked good, but was never comfortable, but at least it wasnt so noticeable. it was always a little bigger than what most women describe when they describe uneven breasts. i have never, ever, felt comfortable naked.
and as i see or read, alot of women have my problem but not alot of them do. so, there are women out there that can have sex without feeling they have to “tuck in” hte bgger breast.

i will say tbis…it has been 3 years since i have had sex. I am single an in my early thirties. i have no prospects and see no reason to go out in the world to meet anyone. in any situation i woud be forced to again, face the mortifying, situation where i have to explain my problem. u know the usual responses are going to be… “if he loves u….guys dont really care…its normal. live with it….if he cares about u it will b okay… im sick of those responses!!!!!
I WANT TO BE NORMAL!!!
i want to feel what every normal woman feels… not the shame of having to cover up. or the constant “carrying” of the larger breast because it weighs more. you now the drill where the larger part under ur arm u just tuck in.
everything is ruined, u cant wear a swimsuit, even if u totally work out, that bigger breast will be noticeable.
when u are young, and ur breasts are PERKY, the bigger one always weighs it doewn. so u cant experience, being young and having gravity on ur side. always a bra, and hope they dont notice!!
HALTER TOPS, FORGET IT! the smaller one is perky and in good shape but the bigger one is SAGGING AND WAYY BIGGER WHERE U HAVE TO RECONSIDER THE STYLE OR (HOPE TO FIND) A SUITABLE BRA WITH INVISIBLE STRAPS.
i am sorry to upset some readers, but i have gone thru several posts, and its always the same stuff!! I WANTED SOMEONE TO BE REAL!!!!

i feel really bad for every suffering from this. i dont mean to be a downer, but i just really needed to vent out. the only alternative is surgery, and i am very fearful of this. i have never been in the hospital since i was born, and am afraid to undertake this. i feel that if i cant fix this i will never live up to my potential.
people say that when overweight women think that when they thin down their life will be different, and when it isnt, they feel cheated. that whole hoopla, of “its how you view yourself..etc”
i know that if i didnt have this “embarassment” then my whole life would have a different outlook.

you are 16, and plastic surgery is not an option. i went to the doctor when i was 13, and he said pretty much what all the dr.s still say. that until you are eighteen you are still growing and your body can change. the thing is you will meet someone who you will want to be with and you are going to have to go through it. i hate to be corny but its true when the guy really loves he wont care. AT~ALL! he just wont. you are very young, and it feels like its a major thing, and i wont belittle you. it is, because i have been there. it sucks.
i had been reading about gel inserts that you attach to the bra. it supposed to be pretty good. let me know if u want more info on this. ill give you that website.

Hi, my name is Priscilla. I’m 18 years old, and my right breast is about if not more than a whole cup size larger than my left. I used to think there was something wrong, but it’s just something I have to live with. i tried to get my insurance to cover a breat reduction, but since there is no real medical risk, other than the overlooked fact that I have a lot of back problem, my insurance refused to pay for it. I have no other way of getting it done, so I just buy bras that are slightly too big, and tighten one side completely, and the other half way… It seems to go unnoticed, but I won’t wear a bathing suit, and I have to wera a bra, plus a sports bra,and my breasts are so large, they fall out the top or the bottom of my bra. I don’t really know what to do, but I hate my breasts. I’ve had this problem since I was 12.

(72) peekaboo says:

HI there ladies. I’m in the same boat as you. A whole cup size bigger on my right side…because I am left handed. You and I and every one of these women on this post has the same muscles under our breast tissue. We constantly use one hand more than the other. Since we started using our hands. If only we were told at a young age to make sure to even out the activities we do with our hands, perhaps we would not have such extreme size differences. But, I usually carry heavier things with my dominant hand. I’ve built up muscle under my left breast that is not matched under my right. I try and lift a heavier hand weight when working out, or just lifting a right hand weight. But its literally been twenty five years of left hand dominance. So I know you want to be normal…BUT you already are. My boyfriend just giggles. But, doesn’t complain. You know one testicle is larger than the other…although they are not on display like breasts are. I’m not saying its not embarrassing to have two noticeably different sizes, but, occasionally we just have to deal with our abnormalities..chalk it up to being human. There are more embarrassing things, like facial hair, unibrow, and other pyhsical deformities. But, how do you buy a bra properly..thats the really question. I either have a gap, or spilleth over…ugh. thats the lame part.

WOW!! Is all I can say :) I’m actually happy that I came on here! My left breast is a 36D and my right is 36C i think.. because my bras are 36C and the right one fits perfectly while the left one sticks out!! It really sucks. I too have a boyfriend who love my breasts (LOL) even tho I still do not like them and do not feel comfortable, but I really did think i was the only one.. after reading ALL these testimonials from these women, I feel relieved.

For those women out there who are worrying, well.. Don’t. Go to your doctor if you are worried, if there is pain and if it is very uncomfortable. Mom always told me it was normal but I never believed her, not until NOW when I just read all of these. Some of the stories are EXACTLY in my situation. We are all perfect in our own ways. One of our breasts are bigger than the other for some unique reason.

In my opinion don’t resort to surgery.. it’s a 50/50 chance I would never ever take. Love you for who you are. Who cares what everyone else thinks. No matter what you, are not alone. Yeah it used to get to me emotionally, really badly, but now it doesn’t bother me.

Keep your head up, and love yourself for who you are, not because of what is on your body!

Take Care Ladies :)

(85) Same problem, some humble advice says:

Hi Ladies,

I’m 23 and I have the same problem — my right breast is a full cup-size larger than my left breast (36C versus 36B). The right one hangs a lot lower because it is heavier, so it is very obvious. The theory about handedness is interesting, but it doesn’t explain my problem (I am right-handed, but it is the right breast that is bigger). The consensus from a bit of online research is that this is caused by our favorite things — those mysterious hormones.

It used to bother me a lot, but I have combined a few psychological tricks with a few physical ones, and now I feel pretty good about my whole body… no surgery. I hate to see so many women feeling bad about their bodies, and I hope maybe my tricks can help you, too.

(Disclaimer: I am not a doctor. There is a SMALL chance that a difference in breast size is caused by a tumor in one breast. Learn how to self-check for breast cancer — there are many websites on this — so that you can maybe tell the difference. You should try to have annual check-ups with the doctor if you can afford it, and you should tell him or her about ANYTHING that worries you. You should NEVER feel embarrassed by a doctor; they are NOT allowed to talk about your problems with ANYONE else. If your doctor makes you feel uncomfortable or embarrassed, you should try to find a new doctor.)

Physical Tricks:

1. Always buy a bra to fit the LARGER breast. You will be massively uncomfortable if your bra is too small on one side.

2. Then (as someone already suggested), buy a padded insert or a gel insert. Put one in with your smaller breast. You will probably have to buy two (a whole “set”) in order to use just one of them. There are many different sizes and styles. For example, look on the Bare Necessities website under “accessories” under “pushup pads.”

I use one almost every day (unless a bra is impossible — see below). Over the course of a few years, I have tried all different kinds. Right now I’m using one of the “jump-a-cup” silicone inserts. It’s good because it looks and feels natural, and it’s the right size to make up for the difference in my breasts. It’s bad because having it against your skin all day is a bit hot and sweaty. This actually helps to keep the insert in place, but if you don’t like it, you could get a different type or put a small piece of fabric between you and the silicone.

3. Get creative when you can’t wear your normal bra and insert. 95% of the time, I look and feel normal with my bra and insert. But what about, for example, swimming and strapless dresses?

For swimming, I have had great success with the “Longitude” line (I think J.C. Penney carries it, or you can get them online). I’m not plus-size, but I think these suits work great for people who are plus-size AND people who aren’t. Bathing suits are so scary because they are so tight, and therefore they are so revealing. If you get one that doesn’t show off every single curve, but only shows off the curves you want to show off, then that is a good swimsuit! You could also try a halter-type suit and tie one side up tighter than the other. Or you could try to sew in padding to only one side (some suits come with removable padding anyway!).

For all other fashion statements (like strapless dresses), this is where you need to know what to look for. One of my favorite things is ruching (where the fabric looks like it is crumpled up); this makes it harder to tell exactly what is going on underneath the garment, but can still look sexy. Also look for asymmetrical styles; YOU are asymmetrical, so why shouldn’t your dress be? Experiment with what looks best on you as an individual, beautiful woman.

Psychological Tricks:

Some of you younger women may indeed “even out.” If it doesn’t happen naturally, it’s possible that birth control pills or pregnancy will help… BUT obviously you shouldn’t try these things (especially the latter) just for the slim chance that your breasts will even out!

So, whether you “even out” or not, now is the time to start realizing that there will always be something about your body that is not perfect. Always. If you somehow fix your breasts, maybe that “chicken skin” on your arms will start bothering you. As you get older, maybe it’s varicose veins or saggy underarms. Some of us are trying to lose weight, but we know that we will never be a size 4 (nor should we be). We, as women, need to accept our imperfect selves.

It is GREAT that so many of you have supportive boyfriends or husbands. I do, too. Surrounding yourself with supportive people is one way to start feeling good about yourself (your WHOLE self). But I realize that when your boyfriend says “I love you the way you are,” it’s really sweet but it does not necessarily mean that YOU love you the way you are.

Start focusing on the good things that you see in the mirror — we all have them. Maybe it’s your big doe-eyes or your beautiful black hair. Maybe you were lucky enough to have orthodontia so you have great teeth. Maybe you have awesome toned calves. Whatever it is, latch onto it and go from there.

We also need to start looking beneath the surface — cheesy but true — to realize that we are all capable of beautiful things whether or not we think we are physically beautiful. Write a poem about how you feel. Go feed the ducks with a younger cousin. Volunteer at the animal shelter — I guarantee they won’t care whether one breast is bigger than the other.

My tricks might seem to contradict each other. How can I recommend “hiding” your problem so that no one notices but at the same time say that you need to have confidence and not care what others think?

My answer is that the world has some cruel people in it, especially at some high schools. I was fortunate to be popular in high school, but my sister was not, and I saw how awful girls can be to each other. And as you get older, people continue to judge you by how you look (perhaps not as explicitly, however). The simple truth is that it’s easier to conform, especially while you are a teenager. If you don’t want to conform, more power to you. But if “looking normal” (whatever that means) can help you meet other goals (making friends, feeling confident), and if you can do so without taking drastic measures, I don’t see why you shouldn’t help yourself.

I recommend the show “How to Look Good Naked” for all women out there. It’s a bit cheesy and formulaic. They haven’t dealt with the lopsided-breasts issue. And there are some critics of its non-weight-loss philosophy. But whatever — it is a great show for feeling good about yourself no matter what. It’s also great for realizing that most of the people who look amazing have to work at it, and it teaches you the kinds of things you can do to look amazing also!

Whew, that was long, but I hope it helps. Be strong, stay beautiful.

Hi, I am 30 years old and up until two months ago I suffered with this problem for 15 years. I had low self esteem, no confidence, I would not get changed in front of a mirror as I did not want to catch a glimps of myself to put it simply I hated my chest and I felt extremly inadiquate (if thats how you spell it!) Anyway after years of trying to figure out what to do as surgery always scared me, I decided to go for it. I had breast implants (one bigger one put into my smaller breast) I feel like a different person, I love myself now and basically cant stop looking at myself in the mirror now! It has been the best thing that I have ever done and my only regret is that I did not do it sooner. I went to the doctors when I was about 17 and was told that my body was still growing and the other breast could catch up, it did not and I do not believe that if you have this problem that it ever would catch up. Basically if you feel the way I felt for years, just go for it, you will feel like a new women.

I am 68 and my breasts have never evened out and they are a full cup size different. It has been very hard on me, I need to get custom made bras.

Good luck. Too bad there is none.

That’s just the way I was made and I’ve been with plenty of guys who have never thought it was weird. None have ever even noticed unless I pointed it out. Love yourself and the body you have, and others will too. But be embarassed about it and you will make it soooo much worse… You don’t need plastic surgery. Guys like confidence so be confident about it and everyone else will as well.

I am 19 going on 20, I have had 2 kids & I am pregnant right now. I never had a problem with my breast until I got pregnant the first time.. ever since then I have noticed that My left one is a lot bigger than the right.. And they are no longer perky like they use to be.. Im always saying something about it to my fiance every day.. he just looks at me and says it’s fine.. I really hate it though.. & yes it does lower your self esteeem.. but at the same time, even though I think about it everyday.. I know it’s probally never going to change.. so the only thing I can do, after having my baby is work out & get back into shape, and wear a supportive bra to try & not make things worse.. The doctor always told me it was normal.. so I guess there is nothing else I can do about it besides get surgery.. which.. is not happening..lol
Goodluck to all of you women who have the same problem.. It’s nothing fun to deal with.. and it is hard to talk about.. but just think your not the only one out there who has that problem..

(97) ~Louise~ says:

I’ve always known one of my breasts was bigger than the other. My left breast is fair more tender and not as soft as the right. I might get this checked out at the doctor cos of that, but i know it might just be strain because of the size difference. I’ve just realised recently that I’m very flat chested on the right, whereas my left fills a bikini much more. But I just think of it as… the bigger one makes my chest appear bigger! which I like…and if it wasn’t bigger then i would look more flat chested. Would it really make that much difference if my right was bigger too? No guy has ever looked horrified at my chest! Im sure that guys are so happy to be seeing/playing with breasts that they just don’t care less. So my message is, don’t worry about it.

..and to the girl who said that your friends teased you about it…I’m sure they were trying to say that it’s really nothing to worry about, and it should be laughed off. We all have quirky things about our bodies, and I find them endearing qualities.

(99) Rdabby says:

well of course i have the same problem..when i turned 18 i felt something was wrong since one was bigger and felt some weird things inside!
went to the doctor..did the mammogram and ultrasound, turned out to be a Benign and some cells inside the breasts. Now i have to do a mammogram and ultrasound every year. whats bothing me is the size of the cells arent that bigalthough one breast is a D and the other is a C ,am supposed to wait till they get big enough so i can get them removed.. the mamogram is very annoying..plus am only 23 heard that am too young for mammogram! so am i too young for a mammmogram? and should i get them removed so i dont feel pain and my breasts can be even!!!

I really can’t believe there are so many women out there with this problem. I am 35 and can remember i was 12 when i noticed the problem, my mum took me to the doctor’s and he said nothing is wrong, my breast will grow out.
I have been married for 9 years with a four year old beautiful daughter, and though i tried to have as much confidence in myself about it as i can, it bothers me so much.

It’s jsut nice to know that i am not alone. Now i feel so much better in moving forward in reconstructing my breast .

Reading all of your noted has strenghten me.

Hey girls, I’m 20 and have the same problem, I have large breasts so the difference is VERY noticable… All you girls at 13-16 I wouldn’t worry about it too much as there’s a fair chance they can even themselves out in the next few years…

It’s nice to know I’m not the only one… Anyone who’s worried about what men will think about it DON’T… If it bothers them they simply aren’t worth it!!!

(104) Erin says:

I have the same problem. My right breast is WAY bigger than my left. Like, by a lot. I asked my mom about it and she said that my aunt had the same problem (but she had an implant to make them bigger, not a reduction). It started when I was younger, but it wasn’t that bad. Now about 2 years later, my right is like 2″ longer than the left. Recently, my mom asked me if I still had the problem, and when I said yes she said that when I go to get my physical @ the doctor’s that she’ll have to look @ them and I might get a reduction.

I’m really worried and I don’t know what to do. Plus, it’ll be really awkward @ the doctors.

I have the same problem like many other women my left is bigger than my right almost 1 cup size. It doesn’t bother me as much as it used to I have learnedto love my breasts how they are. I work with cancer patients and majority of them have breast cancer and ONLY have one breast and alot of scarring. Young, elderly all ages and when I really think about it I just thank god that I have two healthy breasts. I am curious to know if most of the ppl on here with this probelm have regular menstraul cycles?? I do not. I have a feeling this might have something to do?? Who knows I am just really curious as to why this happens and why moreso the Left breast? There has to be a reason they just haven’t figured it out yet

Hi, I’m 21 experience the same thing as many women here. My right breast with in the last 6 months is noticeably larger then the left. Everyone is posting here but I don’t see any explanation…Is this cancerous, what is the cause? God Bless all.

(108) Rose says:

In response to Marisa about cylces effecting the even breast. My cycle is NEVER regular, has NEVER been since I began at 12. It’s not uncommon for me to skip one month a year. For example Januarys was the 28th…Feb not one…March the 7th…and April the 12th. I’ve never thought anything of it. The uneven-ness has always slightly been there, not enough for anyone else to notice. But my boyfriend of 3 1/2 years happend to point it out recently (I had notice but not said anything). It’s seems larger now then in years prior.

Hi! i’m 20 turning 21 in a month. im a 34b or a 34C. it really depends on the brand.my right breast is bigger than my left. i have never really noticed it before until i really starred at them about a year ago, but when i look back in some of my picture from highschool, i realized that my breast has always been uneven. my boyfriend noticed it and HE DOESNT CARE AT ALLLL!!! cmon they’re guys, aslong as you have it.. then its all gravy! haha. but as for my feelings, it kinda bugs me because its almost summer and im going to be in a bikini. i guess putting an extra pad on the right side of my bikini helps a little bit but im still kind of nervous of what people might say.. i’m just glad i’m not alone! infact, im more worried for my flat ass! HAHAHAH okay girls hope you guys feel better!

(119) Mia says:

Hey ladies, I am 22 and have only noticed this year that my right breast is MASSIVELY bigger than my left. The nipples are even at different heights. I was sick last year and dramatically lost lots and lots of weight and now my boobs have grown back crazy.

It sort bugs me, but even if the size difference is substantial I don’t think most people can possibly notice unless you were standing up perfectly straight in front of them with no top on! My boyfriend hasn’t even noticed as far as I can tell…

I’m glad not to be the only one, but try not to stress too much everyone. It’s most likely that no one can tell but you, and your breasts might always even out with weight change, breastfeeding or of their own accord.

Hi, I am 18 years old, right handed and I noticed about a year ago that my left breast is bigger than my right one. It got worse too since last year. I don’t really know the sizes.. but it might be 1/2 or 1 cup bigger. I don’t really wear bikinis or anything anyways so its not very noticeable, and my boyfriend is very supportive so I’m not that embarassed about it. The one thing I’m worried about though is if its bad to have it that different.
I know, everyone has a slight difference, but is it okay to have it that different?
I hope it evens out!! =(
