The Ups and Downs of Perimenopause

Monday July 21, 2003
Menopause Forum: Was wondering what others are doing for mood swings during these unpredictable times. I've always been a bit short fused, but lately I have zero patience. I have three kids and it doesn't help that two of them are going through puberty. You can imagine the hormonal atmosphere in our household. Also, any suggestions for memory lapses and brain fog. I am a healthy 44, active and into health/nutrition so if anyone has found a natural supplement that has been helpful please let me know. What would you do?

I am in the same boat as you are. Only I have a fifteen yr. old daughter. Any websites that mention this issue would be helpful. I forgot to Google it, to see what comes up. I’ll do that Now.

I raised 4 daughters. My advice is one day that is yours! Personal ‘leave’ for one day either each week or month…you take one day to take care of yourself.

I took up golf. I didn’t allow anyone to go with me for 3 years and I ‘played’ on my day off. The message here is to take time to take care of yourself…so you can be there a bit more refreshed for everone else.
