Small Breast Lump on Skin

Sunday September 28, 2003
Women's Health Forums: Has anyone ever heard of a small lump (smaller than the size of a pea) on the "outside" of the breast? I developed one several years ago and when I visited the GYN about two years ago (which was shortly after I discovered it), she examined it, commented that it was "soft" not "hard" and while she didn't know what it is, didn't think I should be concerned. There is nothing about this that I can describe other than it's just there. Anyone ever heard of such a thing? Not sure what kind of doctor I would see who might know what it is. A dermatologist? What do you think?

I do know what you are talking about. I am 20 years old and have had a similar lump for about 3-4 years. It hasn’t seemed to grow and it is soft. I thought it was odd because it was on the outside and there was no reason for it (scar wise). I haven’t checked it out yet but just wanted to let you know your not the only one who has that sort of thing.

I too have a small lump on the outside of my breast. I developed it about 1 1/2 years ago. It has not grown (very small bump like, soft lump), but I worry about it because my mother had breast cancer about 9 years ago, and had part of her breast removed.
