i have a question. i have hydrosalpinx in my left fallopian tube and my ob/gyn said that i could have a hysterectomy while she was inthere removing my ovary and tube. i will have one remaining ovary and she said that i would have to be on HRT afterwards. i am 42 yrs old and the thought of immediate menopause terrifys me. what are your thoughts? if i choose to do this i want natural hormones. i haven’t been able to find any info on hysterectomy with one remaining ovary. Thanks.

I am 44 years young and recently (5 weeks ago) had a hysterectomy. I still have one ovary remaining and am not on any hormone medications. The only thing I have experienced is waking up sweating, which isnt really all that bad.
