Food Craving and Your Period

"Probably my worst PMS symptom is overeating. On certain days during my cycle, I have very strong, somtimes completely uncontrolable, urges to eat... On these over eating days I have, what I call, bulemic attacks that make me feel terrible the next day...." Do you overeat, or crave certain foods, before your period?

Yes ! i do the same thing, its horrible… but for me it goes like this i overeat a week before my period is about to come ! … i eat and eat and then the next day i feel horrible, i feel bloated but extra bloated , it makes me hate my own body!. I just dont know what to do !!!!! :(

This happens to me too! About two days before I get my period I start eating more carbohydrates than usual. I’ve experimented with this by recording my diet and exercise and fiddling with it, and found that if I push myself and exercise a lot more (running a few extra miles) than usual just before I get my period, I crave less food. Compared to when I just stick to my normal routine- I definitely eat more carbohydrates!! Anywho, I want to believe this is normal! Try experimenting with your daily habits and see what you can do to minimize the pre-period binges. I know from experience this are NOT FUN!! Its a hormonal mind game, you just have to stay ahead of it. Good luck!

This always happens for me a week before my period and I hate it. All I do is eat and I still gain three pounds even though I’m workout six days a week, drink plenty of water, and get lots of sleep.

I crave more food when I know that I’m getting my period. Also, I have the need to eat chocolate.

I know that they are foods that we’re told not to eat while on our period, but the problem is that I don’t feel relaxed until I eat something that makes me feel relaxed.

That exact thing happens to me. I eat so much even when I’m not hungry. I get the munchies and just keep snacking and eating and drinking so many carbs a week before my period. You’d think I was pregnant or something!
