Yes, how do you get rid of them? Are they contagious? How does one get them?

I get these CONSTANTLY! Mostly on my inner thighs; panty line; and butt cheeks – but at times on the labia. They are extremely painful at times – and at times you don’t know they are there – I have been on Bactrim or Keflex probably 6 times outta the last yr for these – to no avail. I tried not shaving there – and got more – as on right now i have 2 on ea thigh = another one lower on my leg; one on my belly, one on my labia; two on my R-butt cheek; and 1 on the left that i had sliced and drained 2 weeks ago – It was 2 1/2 INCHES DEEP and 2 INCHES WIDE!!!!
Does anyone know of any cures/treatment that WORKS for these….

Two weeks ago I noticed a lump developing near my vagina, and I got very worried about this. I went to a specialist who prescribed antibiotics, who also advised me to put ice on it to reduce the inflammation. It lost its redness, but the lump is still there. It is not painful, but I hope it doesn’t get worse.

Wow. This was good information. I actually noticed discomfort Sunday. Granted, I had literally been SITTING on my ass on an uncomfy futon for two days in a row…Sunday night I noticed discomfort in my vaginal area. I did a mirror check and definitely saw some swelling. Absolutely FREAKED me out. I was careful on Monday, wore cotton underwear (no rubbing), no running on the treadmill, so it was better Tuesday morning. I am still a little freaked out. I am going to watch it this week. It doesn’t hurt, even on touch…it’s just a lump like swelling. I just don’t recall “seeing” it there before. It’s like it just happened over several days.

Hannah, you are not too young — these can occur at any age.

Monae, you should see your doctor again and ask whether your “boil” needs to be lanced. Many times the only way to permanently rid yourself of boils, cysts, etc. is to have the lump surgically. This is the only way to remove the core which is what makes the lump return over and over. You may need to see a surgeon for this, although the surgery for these is *usually* an in-office procedure.

I first noticed a vaginal bump almost a year ago, and since, just found my third. They are usually rather small, only in the vaginal area, but are tender and itchy. I’ve been so fearful that the one time rebound would scar me forever by having herpes… Do you think my small tender and itchy bumps are these cysts?

i’ve had bumps appear near my vagina a few times. they are normally itchy, sometimes they sting, but are fairly small. i tend to get them right before my period, one or two bumps at a time. i’ve seen my doctor and she took a herpes culture (although she said it may have healed too much to track herpes) and a blood test and both came out negative. she was stumped as to what it might be. how accurate are these tests and what else could it be? they last anywhere from a day or two to a week.

i just found a very small hard lump inside my vagina but i can only fell it if i press down,it isnt painfull.i have had 2 children,can it be caused by children.

I’m hoping that a few tiny bumps I have on my vagina are some type of acne but I’m no expert so I came to ask. I’m 21, a virgin and I masturbate. I too have small bumps under the skin by my vaginal entrance like 5 on each side, and have just notices just one on top of my clitoris. i am 12 turning 13 and i have found a small about pea sized lump on the underside of my labia. Its under the skin so i am quite sure it is not genital herpes (which i shouldnt have anyway because i have never had sex) but i have no idea what it is. its not any different colour and it doesnt stick out or hurt unless i try and squeeze it. Its hard, not soft. I havent had my period and its seriously freaking me out. I discovered it last night and have been worried ever scince. My mother thinks it may just be a pimple (she hasnt seen it tho) but ive never had a pimple the size of a PEA before… and can i tell you, i do get pimples often. I woudnt say im healthy. I dont like sport and a ate 21 serves of “snack” foods yesterday according to my Health and nutrition teacher. I am still very skinny, only weighing 35 kilo’s. I hope it doesnt have to do with my health. Im really scared that it might be something that i would have to see the doctor for but i hope its not. Faith, I have the same thing as you i think. It’s been there for a few weeks. Several small lumps, but they look like extra skin, they aren’t hard, and they’re the same colour as the skin, on the inside of my vagina, but at the entrance so i can see them if i use a mirror. I also shave. You should go and see a doctor, i did, she checked me and gave me antibiotics and cream. I’m not sure if it’s working though. To me it just looks like extra skin that wasn’t there before! But with lumps.

i have a very small bump close to the right lip, right after hair ends and flesh begins. i have no symptoms. it does not itch, there is no smell, there is no discharge, i experience no pain and there has only ever been one. i have had it since 2005, maybe 2006. i have tried natural remedies like aloe vera and vitamin e, but there has been no change. the only thing that helped was when i was abroad and taking regular soaks in natural hot springs. it got smaller and smaller and almost went away completely, but returned once i returned to the states. it also gets smaller when i’m on my period. i am hygenic. i have yet to find an answer. can anyone offer help? thank you.

Okay this is going to sound strange but i’m REALLY worried about this. I’m 18 and about a week before my period I had a burning pain in my right side which is hard to describe. I was just sitting up one day watching a movie when the pain began. It was so bad that I had to keep an ice pack on it till my period started and then I had no symptoms while I was having my period. Now since my period has ended, it hurts a little when I press down on my right side only when i’m standing and in one spot it burns when I press really hard. I’m pretty sure I felt some lumps in that area, it’s like right on my pubic mound and it’s scaring me to death… now my whole vaginal opening is burning (not frequently) and pain shoots through both left and right sides if i’m sitting up occasionally. I hope it’s not anything serious and i’m afraid to go to the doctors for it…anyone else have this problem?? (it’s been two years since i’ve had sex and i’ve only had sex once with a condom when I was 16)

Hey, well I am 14 going on 15 and I just noticed some uncomfortableness near my vaginal area. On the side close to my vaginal area I noticed a lump like a pimple but bigger around the sides (almost inflamed?) It is irratable a little when I walk or when it is pressured. I had a hard painful lump on the inside of my thigh close to my labia and was worried also. When I got down on the floor with a mirror.. cause I thought it might have been a tick… I discovered that I had a very Hard White Head..was hard to distinguish .. i squeezed it out it was large and the whole swelling went away in a couple of days.
TO THE TEA TREE GIRL: Tea Tree Oil b y the way is very irritating around any mucus membranes you may well have ignited a problem using that around your vagina!!!!

And as was said if these persist professional intervention is the best course of action.
A lot of these problems almost sound like pimples that don’t come to the surface probably cause they are so contained.!

Hey its is such a relief to see im not the only one to get these ‘cysts’ I have had them since i was 15 sometimes they are so big i get embarrassed for my b/f of 6 years to get intimate with me just on the off chance he’ll feel it or see it. I havent had any medical intervention even though i have had children of my own and have had it all on display i think im scared that it will be something differant. Mine usually go away after i’ve squeezed them although i have scars. If anyone else has any more information i would be happy to read it. Everytime i get one it freaks me out.

Well I actually just came accross this because I just found some sorness. I am sittina at my computer && it’s very uncomforatable. So, I took my mirror && checked me vagina to see what it was and I saw a few bumbs. And I always brake out due to shaving, sometimes they just come up. But now I am getting them in a different place farther back towards the back of my vagina. And reading this had caused much comfort. My advice to you all is to still go see a doctor.

Please help! I have been shaving my vagina for a long time now, to come to the same problem everytime. I always get bumps, which I know is from the skin being irritated, but sometimes also the bumps tend to turn into ingrown hairs, and then instead of going away, they scar! And for the bumps, it doesn’t seem like they go away either, it just seems like they either turn into ingrown hairs also, or just scar in the same fashion. I don’t mess with or try and pop these bumps or ingrown hairs, I mostly just leave them alone and apply a moisturizer to try and keep myself moisturized, but even that doesn’t work. Do you know the problem, or how I can stop this from happening? It really interferes with wearing a bikini, and all sorts of things like that! My main problem is just trying to keep the bumps from coming and from stopping the scarring, but I just don’t know what to do!

I’m 39, I got two cyst on the back of my thighs about 8 years ago they drained then fromed in to hard lumps & have grown a bit. Then when I’d have my cycle I got a ‘cyst’ just above my bottem in the um crack area, swelled up and then drained nasty stuff for days, it got very painful and happend every month. Now its just a hard lump since my hysto and now and then it acts up. I now get in my vaginal area the same kind of thing, usually three a month, they start out small, swell up and become very painful then drain green pus then remain hard this takes about a week to drain, so I’m in pain for 5 to 6 days. My pcp has tried everything, she wants me to see someone else to have them removed and treated so they stop forming. IN the mean time she suggested when at home, don’t wear underware, not to shave at all, and try not to wear panty liners daily. Hope this helps some of you

I get the pimple bumps, lumps, from sweating. Wearing that cute pair of underwear even though I knew it wasn’t 100% cotton. Bad. Tight pants (don’t do that anymore). Soap irritation. Usually around period time too. Never during the winter time, always in the summer, so I’m extra careful about what I wear when it’s hot out.

Just stop fussing with it! If you know what it is then leave it be. I wouldn’t take an antibiotic pill for every little pimple either. That won’t make your vagina happy in the long run. Next thing you know, you’ve got some happy Vaginitis on top of that pimple.

STOP popping them people! Yuk. You wouldn’t pop a huge zit on your face would you? No crater central. When I feel they might be getting too tender or big for comfort I put a bandaid over it with some neosporin(antibiotic ointment) and next day it’s better. Even a bit of iodine. Of course these are the ones around my panty line. Nowhere near my Vulva.

So be careful. Keep it clean.
And remember, just because your butt looks cute in that pair of really skin tight pants, it doesn’t mean SHE will be too happy or cute, after you’ve pealed them off.

I have had a reoccurring bump next to the entrance of my vagina and it is painful when i touch it and irritable when i don’t.

It comes a couple of times a year and when pressure is applied to it i have a pinkish discharge.

most of these sound like plain old yeast infections. they are common just before periods. just go try an over the counter, if it doesn’t clear up it’s pry vaginosis and u need to go to doctor for that.

I’ve been having pain and discomfort for about 6 months. The first one I got was almost like a large pimple about a cm inside my panty line. It was red and hurt to walk i put a bandaide and nesoporin on it and eventually popped and it went away. This is the first time I’ve searched for this information, but I’m glad I finally did because it’s kind of putting me at ease to know I’m not alone. I’m 20yrs old and have noticed recently a lump on the right side of my vagina(pretty much on the panty line area), under the skin. I can ignore it most of the time but if I squat down to pick something up I feel this uncomfortable pain (almost a little stinging). I am fourteen and suffer from horrible Anxiety. I am never sure if there is something to really worry about or not; I was hoping someone could help me.

I found a bump at the opening of my vagina… Actually, it’s not even on my vagina, it’s right before it… It’s where only skin is, no wholes, etc. The crack for my bum begins right after it. It’s basically right in the middle… anyways, touching it is painful…I told my mum about it (and she looked at ) and said it was nothing to worry about but she’d take me to the doctor if I’d like… she said it was either an ingrown hair or a pimple… however, I’m not sure if I should believe her… due to my anxiety, she never thinks anything I worry about is anything to worry about… Should I tell her to take me to the doctor? I don’t want someone who is not me, myself, and I looking down THERE… especially if it turned out to be a man… Is it an ingrown hair or pimple? It feels hard, but my mum said it’s because the skin is thicker and there’s a lot of stuff it in. I haven’t tried squeezing it or messing with it. Just pressing it a little.

Hello, I am 17 years old. yesterday I noticed I had just one pump right above my uh.. Clitorus It seems to maybe popped. I am not sure. It is just teh skin now with a white like core. and I have a rash lookin spot on my right and left inner thigh.

I have bumps on the outter lips of my vagina, I know what in grown hairs are and I am fully aware of what they look like and these bumps are not them. They usually come one at a time, then they go away after about a week.I don’t always have them, they come and go as they please. Could be between a month and 6 months that they come. They always want to pop and usually do with the slightest squeeze. They are pea sized and puss a thick cream colored puss then bleed afterwards. They start off under the skin, just hard lumps, but after a day or so they turn into bumps, still hard, that I can pop. Even after I pop them, though, they’re still hard. They also made my lips swollen. Any ideas??

anyone who has these lumps should try to saok in a hot bath with oatmeal or chamomile something soothing. I took a hot bath and put a bath bomb with oils in it when I got out the lumps went down alot they stopped swelling. maybe this might work for you guys.

Batholin’s cyst. Look it up. 1 on each side of our vaginal openings to secrete moisture to our labia. If blocked it swells up. sit in warm bath water in hopes of curing it before it becomes a problem. look it up.

HEY XXSCAREDXX, dont be scared yet. You need to get a little mirror and look at it to see the size, shape, color, location…. It may be a boil, they really hurt too, or an infected ingrown hair. Cover it with a band aid for less irritation and try to stay dry.

I am 40 years old and have had small white hard bumps on the hood of my clitoris and vaginal lips since puberty, or since I can remember. Some have came and went. They are not painful. When I have squeezed them in the past , either a small amount of white stuff comes out, or none at all. There had been a few times when the ’stuff’ was a beige/gold colour.When I looked closer- there were tiny hairs all stuck together ( I am a blonde, hence the colour of the ’stuff’ ? )
I also had a pimple in the inside of my butt cheek once when I was 14 years old. Now, every few years or so, a lump forms there, and
I have expelled ’stuff’ that resembles light coloured gooey peanut butter, and contains
hundreds ,if not more, tiny feathery light hairs! It`s like a fuzz ball!

My doctor has swabbed and tested, and nothing negative comes up. He says it`s harmless, but cannot determine whether it is Sebaceous Cysts, or something follicular.
I mean – there is hair in them! What the heck!?
When I had lymphoma and went through chemo, and lost all my hair, the bumps went away, only to re-emerge when my hair grew back.

i get those sometimes but now and when i do i cant help but pick them. my doctor says that their ingrowning hair and that there is no medicine for that so wat i do is that i still pick them and i shower and then put neosporin. within a week they’re gone. i try not to shave as much but somtime u just have to and thats when they come up. and also even if i dont pick them i put neosporin on the surface. it works too. try showering at least 2x a day when they come out to avoid bacteria to them.

I was on Cephalexen for an infected cyst, and after a while, I noticed that I had a mild milky discharge. My doctor said it was a side effect of the antibiotic. However, I began to notice a change in the texture of the skin at the entrance of my vagina. I wore a pair of tight jeans yesterday that I could tell were pinching me in the crotch and when I got home I found a redish bump under the skin near the top of my vagina.it is a horrible pain and I can feel it even when I’m not moving.I just want it to go away because the pain is unbearable.I don’t think it has anything to do with sexual things because ive never had sex and its been a year since I’ve had any sexual contact.my guess was a blocked hair folecule???I really don’t want to go to a doctor because I am embarrased.please help me figure out what it is and how to treat it!

Jayjay, I did the exact same thing this week and I am in worse pain than when I was in labour. The bump is huge and excruciatingly sore. Went to doc who said it’s a boil or staph infection. Put me onto flucloxacillin for a week. Third day in now and swelling around going down but still painful and boil as big. May need to get it lanced. Get yourself some antibiotics, have a hot bath twice a day. I am also getting relief from dressing it with gauze and antiseptic ointment ( nippy at first but keeps it clean). Good luck!

So I really think you need to see a doctor. It sounds like maybe you have a syst on or around your ovary, or maybe endometriosis. It may be something completely different, but in any case you really need to see a doctor have some blood work done and sonagrams. I hope your well, good luck.

i am really really upset/worried/stressing out over a bump at the top of the inside of my vagina. i have used a mirror and it is red and swollen and when i stand normally it can be seen ‘peeking’ out. it havs been there for the past few days and has increasingly becomming sorer and sorer. It has not increased in size. Now it hurts to walk and to sit down. I am only 16 and understand that these lumps can appear at any age, but i am still really worried. I found this strange lump on my vagina. it’s on the left outer lip, under side… quite close to a vein that I can see running in the same place. It’s not very big, but oblong in shape, very hard and a little painful. It twinges sometimes, and aches a little. At first I thought it was just an ingrowing hair, but I dont think it is now.

Does anyone have any clue what it could be??

Everyone needs to calm down a bit first it’s probably nothing to worry about. Then do your reasearch – which is probably what you were doing when you came accross this site. Get it checked out you will never know until you check. I’m sure (absolutely certain) that doctors come accross this sort of thing all the time, so just check it out and stop worrying. Don’t worry till you know that there is DEFINITELY something to worry about.

I have had a similar problem. I have a flesh colored, pea-sized bump right on my bikini line that has been there for probably about 2-3 years. Every now and then it gets sore and red and almost forms like a pimple (VERY uncomfortable in this area as you can imagine). I do shave and I have tried popping it before but it’s very sensitive and usually blood just comes out. Should I be worried? And what should I do to treat it? I’ve been using Dial antibacterial shower gel and Neosporin on it but I don’t know if it is actually helping or not.

Also, I frequently get urinary tract infections and the most recent one I took generic urinary/bladder pain relief medicine. My nails turned yellow and I’m wondering if this is a possible side effect of this type of medicine. I read the box and it doesn’t say anything of the sort but I don’t know what else it could be???

If these bumps are hard and feel like a zit and may secrete a puss looking substance, it is completeley normal.these may stay months then slowly swell away. anything else i highly reccomend getting checked by an obgyn.

Hello, I get a reoccuring bump every few months around my period on my pantyline, it is more under the skin and I can feel it not so much see it, but within a week it just disappears. I was very scared and embarrassed to go to the doctor but, I went and after the usual tests and pap smear she determined that it was a cyst. I just want to let you ladies know that you shouldn’t be embarrassed to go to the doctor that is what they are there for, and believe me they have seen it ALL before. Most of the time it is probly nothing you need to worry about…but sometimes it is and it is better to know what’s going on with your body and get it fixed. If it is something bad the earlier it’s detected the better an outcome for you.

I’m 19 years old and after several months of sleeping with my boyfriend noticed a white discharge and redness on the vagina and surrounding area with tiny hard white lumps. I was advised by the doctor its most likely a yeast infection so used the cream etc. That helped the discharge however not the redness or lumps. I consulted the doctor again and she did not seem to mention anything else. However, I have recently found fluidy lumps inside the vagina and am sure there is something not right.

Ladies, I’m not a doctor, but suggest Tea Tree Oil might help reduce and eliminate general bumps. But for those that have blisters, or bumps with fluid, be safe and see your doctor. Sometimes it is nothing more than a cyst or irritation. But it’s best to be sure you don’t have something that could be serious. They have seen it all. Taking care of yourself with a visit to the doctor is the best thing you can do for yourself, no matter what your age.

Whithout going into great detail my husband found it about a year or so ago and it is still there, I have had a pap smear done it was normal, this time but have had irregular cells in the past. i was finally diagnosed with Hidradenitis suppurativa after being put on bictrim for about two years so now all good flora is dead and even with taking acidopholis suppliments im unable to drink so much as a beer or eat any bread with out getting a yeast infection.too bad i love beer:( anyway bactrim did very little for the mini to large abcesses!it seemed like they were better when i was on it but ass soon as i went off of it the abcesses were almost worse then before. so things that have helped my skin?i quit smoking.it got so much better when i quit smoking! staying away from hydroginated oil (they use a metal catylist usualy nickel to make it set up at room temp) sounds weird but im alergic to almost all types of metal im alergic to gold,nickel,silcon dioxide,titanium dioxide,Aluminum,lythium,vlandium,selenium, chromium,floride,lythium. Well i’ll admit, reading everyone else’s comments are making me feel a bit better.
Uhm my issue is that i shave my whole vagina, even the labia majora and this is the first time i ever got what i have.

i think i shaved the wrong way, plus i went to Wild Water Works and went swimming the next day..

On Thursday i noticed that i had 2 bumps on my right labia majora and they were like red and on the top its like shiny flesh kinda of thing. A few hours later, when i went to bed, i noticed a few more plus on the other side.. I lost count but theres more than 10 at least..

They burn when i pee, and hurt when i walk and stuff. They are really sensitive.. I’ve been putting Vaseline on them to keep them from sticking to my underwear, which is cotton only now..

They are looking to get smaller but its been 4 days.

I am a virgin. My boyfriend knows and he wants me to go to the doctors but i’m not comfortable. i am 15 by the way..

i’m thinking of telling my mom tonight, she warned me about this too..

i think its an infected ingrown hair.

About 2 months ago, I started using this Lifebuoy soap and I think it was too strong for me or I was allergic and my vagina hurt quite badly and it was really itchy. I have had this one bump on the outside of my vagina for the past 6yrs, it occasional inflames during my menstruation, doctors at times cant feel it and say it may be a hair bump. But for 6 yrs? Also, I have a new similar bump which I believe to be a hair that I cant seem to locate, but this one has been there for several mths. They both let out “pimple-like” discharges occasionally. The more worrysome bumps are 2 that reappear right before each period in the same locations. These are much smaller, look like pimples, pop like simples, go away and come back as stated right before my period. I have a herpes paranoia, many physicians suggest its not but none have been able to see the reoccuring bumps seeing as though they show up right before my period (and who wants to go to the doctor when they are on their period). I’ve researched it online, compared photos,and I guess the lack of an answer for it actually is and why they come back is wats causing my anxiety… Do u have any suggestions for ANY of them?(especially the recurring ones.)

I have gotten ingrown hairs since I started getting hair down there, you know, but two weeks ago I got what I thought was another ingrown hair, but It kept getting bigger and had like a blister type bump, I thought it may have been a cyst, which it maybe. but I busted it and it kinda scared over but I got up this morning and I did have an ingrown hair in the same place, when I got it out I noticed that its back. Seeing all these comments actually makes me feel a lot better. I just noticed these tiny little lumps inside my vagina, there is about 3 or 4, maybe a tad bit smaller then a pea, and you cannot see them. They do not itch or burn they just hurt a little when I apply pressure. At first I thought, “herpes?!” but I’ve never had sex. (I’m 18 btw.) And now seeing that A LOT of women get these, it seems acutally kind of normal, and if they are harmless cysts, then I don’t have to worry. I have a set of 3 bumps next to my vagina entrance. I didnt notice them until after I urinated because of the “stinging” sensation that I felt. There is no foul odor or any discharge from them.
The first one is pea size and then the other two are smaller, they are all together in a “string like formation”.
