I am 47 years old. Single, 2 children over the age of 15 years. I was recently prescribed birth control pills to help control excessive bleeding due to a fibroid tumor. Now I bleed 3 weeks out of the month instead of 4 weeks.

As I said I am single and because of my problem I am very hesitant to get into a relationship because I am sure the bleeding will ultimately become an issue.

I am considering a total hysterectomy only because I’m done with having children. I’m fearful only because I have never had a major operation.
