Women's Health Forums: Hi! I'm 21, a wife and mother of a 13 month old. At my latest annual exam, I learned that I have fibrocystic breasts. My doctor told me not to worry and brushed me off. I have read that this is usually a condition that affects women over 30 and raises their risk of developing breast cancer. Any thoughts, personal experiences and/or information anyone can share would ease my mind! What do you think?

I also had fibrocystic disease when I was younger, I cut down on the caffine and it went away, however, I have just been diagnosed with breast cancer. I often wonder if firo disease is a precursor to breast cancer.

I had an early encounter with fibrocystic breast disease when I was in my early 20s…and have had subsequent problems into my late 30s. often wondered if there was a link? Has anyone done any research in the last five years on that topic?

I’ve had fibrocystic breast since my 20’s. I’ve always been told it would be harder to detect a breast cancer. So, I’ve had annual mammograms which lead to ultrasounds many years.
I have been diagnosed with breast cancer. IDS as a stage 1.
Early detection and a baseline are incredibly important!
