Essential Oils Help Relieve PMS

Monday January 22, 2007
According to a report on Salt Lake City television station KUTV, the cure for mild cases of PMS could be as close as your local store. Aromatherapy using essential oils such as lavender, clary sage, and geranium may be helpful in reducing the most common symptoms of prementrual syndrome according to the report. Aromatherapist Jennifer Davidson Dowd says essential oils can help to elevate moods, reduce anxiety, and relax muscles. Have you ever used essential oils to treat PMS or other conditions?

from the age of 16 til about 18, i experienced pretty bad pms, and after the age of 18 i finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with PMDD (premenstural dys. disorder) which is a whole other kettle of fish when it comes to pms. it is a constant feeling of pms (thru ur period and not), it can also include suicidal thoughts and depression. i often use a blend of essential oils; bergamont, geuranium and sometimes clery sage. i burn this in an oil burner or infuse it within a bath. i reckon it works great for me, it calms me down and balances out my moods. if you have ever wondered about it - give it a go!!

Hi,

I think every women has to be experience with PMS. But not every one has the same symptoms. Like myself and my mother. Although we both has the same genetic but we have different symptoms from each other. I always has a migraine and feeling of “down”. I know that aromatherapy it’s not every time successfully works with me but it will lightly reduce the tense that I’m dealing with.

I usually will diffuse geranium and sometime mix with peppermint for reduce the migraine.
