Doctor Says Alternative Treatments Help End Endometriosis Pain

Monday March 19, 2007
The severe, and often debilitating, pain caused by endometriosis is difficult to both diagnose and treat. In fact, according to Dr. Anthony Vendryes' column in the Jamaica Gleaner News, exploratory laparoscopy is often necessary to diagnose endometriosis.

Although scientists have not found a clear cause for endometriosis, Dr. Vendryes believes that endometriosis is another example of homonal imbalance that is caused by estrogen dominance which he says also causes fibroid tumors, ovarian cysts, premenstrual syndrome or PMS, as wells as many symptoms associated with perimenopause and menopause. He also discusses the many potential, toxic, causes of estrogen dominance found in our environment.

The good news, according to Dr. Vendryes, is that with a few nutrition and lifestyle changes, as well as the use of natural progesterone cream (not progestin which is one treatment typically tried in traditional medicine) many women who are suffering from this extremely painful condition could finally get some relief.
