You've probably heard time and again how important water is to your health. When it comes to preventing urinary tract infections, nothing could be more true. If you make a habit of drinking plenty of water or other fluids (not coffee or sodas) every day, it will help to keep your urinary system flushed clean of any bacteria that may enter. You will find yourself emptying your bladder as soon as you feel the urge to urinate and you could be lowing your risk of developing a bladder infections. Some doctors also recommend urinating before and after sex to help flush out any bacteria that may enter the urethra during sexual intercourse.
