Traditional Treatments

  • beta-blockers

  • diuretics

  • calcium channel blockers for certain types of hypertension

If you have high blood pressure discuss your treatment options with your health care provider to determine the best alternative or traditional treatment to lower your blood pressure.

Alternative Treatments

  • diet, nutrition

  • weight loss, if overweight

  • regular weight-bearing exercise such as walking at least 30 minutes three to four days per week
