Many of you have written asking where I find the information I provide here in Womens Health, so this week, I am sharing some of my best resources with you.
Medical Sites...
The American Cancer Society site provides an extensive amount of cancer information. You can search for your homestate's American Cancer Society branch site, as well as, find links to cancer information including, specific cancers, alternative therapies, breast cancer, and other web resources. Programs and Events provides you with discussions detailing, patient information, prevention information, detection and treatment, information about special events, and more important facts.
The American Cancer Society site also provides resources for Research and Progress, Giving, and information about how you can Join the Fight against cancer! In The News brings you the latest news releases, as well as other relevant cancer information.
The American Medical Association site provides generous resources including information for consumers , information for physicians, news releases, and much more relevant information for your perusal.
For the latest heart disease related information and news, I turn to the American Heart Association. A visit to this superb site will supply you with an endless amount of heart disease material and other important information. Everyone needs to visit this site and learn the facts; heart disease is the number one killer of American women, taking over 350,000 lives each year!
A visit to the site of the Journal of the American Medical Association(JAMA) will guide you to an enormous database of health information which includes; JAMA Womens Health Resource Center, the latest news, and a plethora of other timely facts.
Mayo Clinic & Foundation for Medical Education and Research, is an outstanding site which provides the latest in patient care, research and education. Be sure to make this site a regular stop when your surfing for reliable health information.
The University of Iowa's Virtual Hospital provides superior information for patients, healthcare providers, and an outstanding list of other Net resources is available for you at this very useful site.

Achoo Healthcare Online offers extensive data covering human health and disease, as well as, a searchable database, and other excellent resources.
Hardin MD- Obstetrics, Gynecology & Womens Health provides a list of superior sites offering timely womens health information. This is a great place to begin your search for facts relating to your health.
Healthfinder is a wonderful site provided by the US government, as gateway to provide consumers with health and human services information on the Net. This site provides a searchable database, where you will find almost any disease or human service imaginable. One of my personal favorites; don't miss it!
Womens Issues/Womens Resources is Joan Korenmann's UMBC site which offers the most extensive listing of Net resources in topics of interests to all women; everything from activism and religion to sexuality and women of color, as well as, womens health sites are listed at this outstanding site.
