Question: What is the Treatment for Bacterial Vaginosis in HIV-Positive Women?
Answer: The treatment of bacterial vaginosis does not change when a woman is HIV-positive. Women infected with HIV should receive the same antibiotic treatment recommended for other women. The recommended antibiotics for treating bacterial vaginosis are metronidazole and clindamycin. Both of these medications are available as oral medication and as vaginal cream or gel.
