Definition: Chronic pain is pain severe enough to cause a disruption in your life. The disruption caused by chronic pain affects your ability to function normally, and the quality of your life. Chronic pain can be constant or occur at random times. Common types of chronic pain include chronic pelvic pain in women, chronic nerve pain, and chronic back pain in both sexes.
