Definition: GnRH is an acronym for gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists. GnRH agonists are anti-estrogen drugs, such as lupron, which significantly lower the estrogen your body produces.

GnRh agonists are often used to treat estrogen-dependent conditions, such as endometriosis and benign uterine fibroid tumors.

Examples:
The doctor prescribed a GnRH agonist to treat my endometriosis.
