When Did Your Embarrassing Menstrual Moment Happen?
My daughter started her period for the first time.
What Happened?
She was staying at her grandparent's house, and her grandmother was at work. Her grandfather has a bladder problem at night and uses diapers for it. My daughter had to tell her grandfather she started her period, her grandmother did not have any period pads or tampons in the house because she went through menopause already. Her grandfather gave her a diaper to wear until her grandmother got home from work. Anyway our family has had several laughing moments when reminded of it. My daughter also laughs about it too. She has a very memorable moment when she started her period for the very first time.
Advice
- When your daughters get around the starting age 11 to 13 make sure you have a emergency supply of period items on hand, for when she starts for the first time. She knew it would come eventually but you can't predict when it will actually happen. Also keep supplies on hand in your locker at school, just in case, or go to a woman teacher, or the office if you don't have any supplies.
